Charitable Activities

 

Sigma Nu colony at Northern Illinois University is very involved in the local DeKalb community participating in volunteer opportunites with companies and organizations such as: Egyptian Theatre, Salvation Army, Red Cross of DeKalb, St. Jude Children's Hospital, etc. Sigma Nu also started its first annual philanthropy event last in the Spring '07 semester, a Powder Puff football tournament.

The first annual "Sigma Nu Powder Puff Football Tournament" took place on April 30th 2007 and raised four hundred dollars for the benefit of St. Jude Children's Hospital. 

So, charity and philanthropy makes people feel good about themselves and what they are doing for others, but there are other practical benefits as desrcibed below.

Sigma Nu has a strong commitment to community service and philanthropy and seeks only to make that commitment stronger, establishing Sigma Nu as one of the premier fraternities in charitable activities.
